We’ve fallen for it again, and now we’re doubling down. We think Anti-Trumpism is all we need.
3 of the first 4 articles in the Times this morning are about something Donald Trump, did, said, or is gonna do, and it’s all supposed to concern us, and compel us not to vote Red.
You have to scroll, for a while, to find an article about Harris, anything she did, said, or is gonna do.
Swing voters that are still undecided care not about Trump’s crass remarks. They don’t believe he’s a fascist, or that fascism can happen in America.
They’re not that worried about the <1% Americans that might not get the conversion therapy they want, or the girl in Texas that is making a decision about her baby. They’re not that worried about the climater for future generations they’ll never know, or asylum-needy immigrants that will never impat their lives.
Maybe some of them paid their student loans, and by gosh, they want you to, also.
They don’t want volleyballs spiked in their daughter’s faces by biological men that lack the personal integrity to not exploit female sports after conversion, and they don’t want to pay for their conversion in the first place.
They’re not worried about men commenting on other men’s equipment, and hell, I’m not either.
They are worried about Russia, China, Iran and the Economy.
And Dems have absolutely nothing for them, except anti-Donald Trumpism. No headlines, no message, no game plan. So Trump sucks up all the oxygen in the room, and while he does that, we try to prove we really worked at McDonald’s, Doug Emoff and Tim Walz actually ARE macho, and the fact that Kamala can’t answer a yes/no question with “yes”, or a “no” isn’t a major problem.
When did we Dems become the Party of Prudes, thinking our opponent’s crass, macho, profane qualities are actually our platform? Was it when Bill Clinton got services in the Oval Office, and we exonerated him?
Dems are in a war to win votes, and all they got is counter-punches and defense, with a team ]that appears to have no idea how to grab and hold a news cycle.
3 of the first 4 articles were about Trump. In the Times. I forget the 4th, but you can bet it wasn’t about Kamala Harris as confidently as you can bet the Trump articles were intended to frighten us.
The problem is that we’re not that frightened, neither are undecided swing voters, and that’s why anti-Trumpism, at this point, is an emphatically losing strategy.
