“When one of us in chains, we are all in chains.” Descartes, I think.
And this is Kyrie Irving’s point: he is not taking any prisoners until his people are not in chains any more. Apologize to any non-black ethnicity or religion that has it made in the shade while his people get crapped on? Like, words vs food? Sh*t, wouldn’t that make you mad?
Kyrie is a true Free Radical, still searching for a voice and tone that will unify instead of divide. But his point should not be swept into the tide of opposition to anti-semitism, that is not what he meant.
He meant: “when one of us is in chains, we are all in chains.” Think about that while you enjoy your various luxuries today, cognizant that most of Kyrie’s people don’t get those luxuries.
